First, the area needs to be evaluated to ensure implant placement is possible. We typically take a 3D scan of the area to evaluate the quality of the bone for implant placement. This can be done as a quick consultation in our office.

Once the area has been evaluated, a plan can be made for implant placement. The implants are placed in the bone and then allowed to heal. After healing (typically 2-4 months) an implant crown or bridge can be placed on the implant. During healing, a temporary device can be worn to replace the tooth.

The placement of dental implants is typically compared to having a filling done, in terms of discomfort during the procedure and after the procedure.

Adjoining teeth aren't affected and implants stimulate jaw bone, strengthening the jaw and preserving bone integrity. The new tooth is permanent, strong, and matches its neighboring teeth perfectly. The titanium root is strong, durable and will not deteriorate like natural teeth do over time.

Most dental insurances plans have some coverage for implants or for the crown that attaches to the implant, but the coverage can vary widely. Once a plan is established for treatment, we can check with your policy and let you know what to expect from your insurance. We also offer several options for financing in order to make the treatment as affordable as possible.
