Implant-Supported Overdentures in Albuquerque, NM

If traditional dentures have felt loose or unstable, an implant-supported overdenture offers a more secure fit while still being removable for easy cleaning. Our Albuquerque team can help you decide if it's right for you.

How It Works

What Happens During Overdenture Treatment

Your dentist evaluates your jawbone and gum health to determine how many implants your overdenture will need, typically two to four per arch. These implants are placed and given time to heal and integrate with your jawbone.

Once healing is complete, your custom overdenture is fitted with attachments that clip securely onto the implants. You'll still be able to remove it for cleaning each night, but it will feel far more stable than a traditional denture while you're wearing it.

Benefits of an Overdenture

01

More Secure Fit

Snaps onto implants for a stable feel while eating and speaking.

02

Easy to Remove & Clean

Still removable each night for straightforward cleaning.

03

Fewer Implants Needed

Typically requires fewer implants than a fixed, full-arch solution.

04

Helps Preserve Jawbone

Implants support bone health in a way traditional dentures can't.

Not Sure Which Option Fits?

Let's Compare Your Choices

We'll help you weigh overdentures against a fixed solution like All-on-4 implants, based on your goals and budget.

Overdentures vs. Fixed Implant Solutions

Overdentures offer a nice middle ground between traditional dentures and a fully fixed restoration. They're typically more affordable than a fixed solution like All-on-4 implants, while still offering much better stability than a traditional denture. If you'd prefer a restoration that's permanently fixed in place and never comes out, a fixed option may be worth exploring instead.

Caring for Your Overdenture

Clean your overdenture daily and remove it each night to give your gums a rest, just as you would with a traditional denture. Keep the implant attachments clean as well, since plaque buildup around them can affect how securely your overdenture clips into place. Regular checkups let us keep an eye on the fit and function of your implants over time.

Cost & Financing

The cost of an overdenture depends on the number of implants used and the design of your final restoration. Our front desk team is happy to walk through pricing, insurance benefits, and financing options so you can plan with confidence.

Frequently Asked Questions

An overdenture is a removable denture that snaps securely onto a small number of dental implants, rather than resting loosely on your gums like a traditional denture. This gives it much greater stability while you eat and speak.
